Welcome
to INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS CLUB (IDC)
|
| |
The purpose
of the club is to help foreign drivers to overcome language barriers
if for any reason they are stopped by the police or requested
to show the license by any other local authority. Being a member
of the club is beneficial, as we will be able to provide you different
motoring related information e.g. cheaper car insurance, repair
and maintenance and many other services. |
| |
|
| |
Many countries all over the world still issue driving licenses in native land's language and it creates many inconveniences to its owners. However, the ID Club can help you to overcome this problem
by issuing you a translation which will also be your membership
card; it will be valid for further two years. The membership can
be easily renewed when the license expires.
|
| |
Our document is widely recognised
throughout the world by many different companies including banks,
car rental, employment agencies, video rental etc… However
we do not take liability if our document is not accepted for any
reason in any country. The document is also a proof that you hold
a valid driving license in your own country. |

Applying for an “International
Driving License ” |
| |
Foreign drivers are only permitted to drive a motor vehicle for one year with their national driving license (UK).
Holders of foreign driving license
must make an application to the country which issued their national
driving license, in order to obtain an “International Driving License ”. If you are going abroad for longer than three months,
to take up residence or employment, or for any other reason other
than tourism, you should make enquiries about those countries
having widely varying license requirements, before relying on
a permit. You should always take your national driving license
with you when driving abroad, even if you’re a holder of
an “International Driving License ”. You may need to
present it when hiring a car and if requested have to show it
to the local authorities. The document is issued under a 1949
UN convention and is valid in almost every country worldwide provided
you are not resident. The “International Driving License ” is not valid in the country where it was issued as it is intended
for foreign travel. |

| |
The differences between
“International Driver’s License” & “National
Driving License” |
| |
The “International Driver's
License” is a non-government translated document and is
only valid when presented in conjunction with a “National
Driving License”. |
| |
A “National Driving License” is an official government ID which you must have in order to drive
a motor vehicle. To obtain one of these, you are required to prove
competence to drive e.g. by taking a test. |
| |
